Camila Cabello is making a case for short hair with her first ever short hairdo.
The upcoming Cinderella star and singer took to Instagram early Friday morning to debut her new haircut, with a photo taken by her boyfriend, singer Shawn Mendes.
“Lost my short hair virginity,” she proudly joked in the caption for the piece. “I’ve had long hair all my life. It’s time to feel the air on these shoulders baby.”
In the pic, Cabello is seen sporting a soft off-the-shoulder white polka-dot top, with a black bottom layer, adorably smiling at the camera (and her BF Mendes, ofc) in a bright alleyway.
As one commenter put it, Camila Cabello with short hair is the “queen of feeling the air on her shoulders and rain on her skin. No one else can feel it for you. Only you can let it in. No one else, no one else can speak the words on your lips. Drench yourself in words unspoken. Live your life with arms wide open. Today is where your book begins. The rest is still unwritten.”
While that’s a bit of a stretch, they are right about one thing: Cabello’s shoulders are about to feel a whole lot lighter.
We do have to ask though, with Shawn Mendes commenting “Phot cred” as the post went live, did he have to publicly blast her for not crediting him? Regardless, it seems like that we’re overthinking things since the pair, who are about to star in Mendes’s Netflix documentary film, later shared a follow up image, adorably hugging each other and ft. Cabello’s new hairdo.
“Hehehehehe,” she wrote.
