Cardi B claps back at Carole Baskin’s “WAP” criticism: “you killed your goddamn husband”

Go off, Cardi B

Cardi B is clapping back at Carole Baskin’s criticism that her new song with Megan Thee Stallion “glamorises owning pet tigers”

Earlier this month, the Big Cats Rescue CEO and Tiger King star told Billboard that she was worried the tigers and lions green screened in the music video of the pair’s new single, “WAP,” “glamorises the idea of rich people having tigers as pets.”

“That makes every ignorant follower want to imitate by doing the same,” she wrote. “After tigers are too old for pay to play sessions by people like Joe Exotic, Bhagavan Antle, Marc McCarthy, Mario Tabraue and others, they become a liability instead of an asset.”

“While I think most are destroyed behind closed gates at that point, some end up being given away to people who want to have a tiger to show off. That never works out and the cats either die or end up dumped in sanctuaries or, worse yet, breeding mills. Either way, it’s always abusive to the cat.”

And now, in a new interview with i-D, the “I Like It” rapper responded to Baskin’s claims, reminding her that she should keep her mouth shut given the speculation she might’ve killed her late husband Don Lewis, who mysteriously disappeared in 1997.

“[I’m] not gonna engage with Carole Baskin on that,” she told i-D. “Like, that’s just ridiculous you know? Oh, Lord. Like, girl you killed your goddamn husband.”

Cardi B also added that she was “really surprised by the reaction” to the music video, and encouraged more people to be comfortable talking about their sexuality.

“Some of these men are uncomfortable, they’re not even comfortable being sensual,” she said. “Maybe you’re conservative, but everybody got a little freak inside them, you know? Every single person. Everybody gets horny, everybody gets a little tingle down there, you know what I’m saying. Just embrace it. Don’t be scared about it.”
