In case you missed it, the one and only Joe Jonas spent some time in our gorj country this year, while he co-judged The Voice.
So, our lucky GF writer Sammy got to sit down with him and talk about his AMAZING role as Kraken, the giant octopus that sings in Hotel Transylvania 3…
S: How did you immerse yourself in the role?
Joe: “I had to wear a lot of octopus outfits… and I didn’t eat octopus for about 6 months… out of respect. No this is true.
Lmao.
Joe got to work with the writers and see them create the character. He got most excited when he heard that one song would be “Viva Los Vegas” which is sung by one of his fave crooners, Frank Sinatra
S: The film was about a family vacation, which can be really good… or a mess. Do you have any distinct memories that haunt you?
Joe: “I have a lot… but to narrow it down to family vacations… I have quite a few as well.”
He explains how he went on a cruise on his 15th birthday with his family. He met a girl he had a huge crush on, but his parents really embarrassed him and he was then stuck on the boat with her. Yikes.
If there’s one revelation that we totally didn’t expect from Joe though, it’s how into scary stories he is. In the interview, he describes how a friend went camping and had a really scary encounter with a child ghost.
“That haunted me as a kid,” he revealed.
And did you know the Jonas family had an abandoned graveyard in their backyard growing up? CREEPY AF!!!
S: So you’re going on a cruise for 35 days, you can only take 4 people with you… who do you choose?
Joe: “Bill Murray – he’d keep me laughing. My brother Nick. We’d had a good time. I think Adam Sandler would be pretty awesome… and Shaquille O’Neil. It’s a good group.
Hotel Transylvania 3 is in cinemas now!
