By now, you’ve probably listened to Harry Styles‘ new self-titled album on repeat since its release.
If you have, you’d be aware of the upbeat song, “Carolina” which Harry admitted in his doco Behind The Album is dedicated to a girl he once met.
THE DREAM.
Not Taylor Swift, not Kendall Jenner… just a regular girl who impressed our Harold. What a queen.
Harry admitted that her name is in the song, and so the fandom got to work. It didn’t take them long to figure out that her name is “Townes Adair Jones.”
The lyrics go:
“She’s got a family in Carolina/So far away, but she says I remind her of home/Feeling oh so far from home/She never saw herself as a west coaster/Moved all the way cause her grandma told her/”Townes, better swim before you drown.”
Lit.
This is the fan photo of the two where they supposedly met.
And this is the work of fans digging deep through the internet.
Friends of the 20-year-old spoke to Daily Mail, revealing that she went on a blind date with Harry.
“The story is as cute as the song is, she thinks it’s adorable, really sweet, but she was really surprised by the gesture. She never imagined he’d do something like this. She loves the song, and thinks it was very lovely of him to do it but doesn’t really want any of the attention that comes along with it.”
Ride the wave girl, we would.
The best part is how she found out about the song. Harry revealed in his documentary that he didn’t tell her about the song, and with lyrics like: “How would I tell her that she’s all I think about?/Well, I guess she just found out”
*Swoon*
“Their dad watched The Today Show and he left them a voicemail saying, ‘I think he just sang a song about you on the TV,'” Harry told his friend Nick Grimshaw while on the BBC Radio 1 show.
NUP, WE’RE NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY JEALOUS.
BYE.
