So we all know the story of how Liam Payne and Cheryl met way back when during Liam’s X Factor audition, but we didn’t know just how the pair started hooking up all those years later.
It turns out his band-mate Niall Horan and 1D overlord, Simon Cowell had a hand in the glorious union.
“Niall came over to me and said you’ll never guess who’s got a crush on you — Cheryl,” Liam told Radio1Xtra.
“I was saying something about Cheryl in Simon’s house and he said I know who the future Mrs. Payne is.”
“Apparently, he really embarrassed her one day by saying, ‘Do you know who really fancies you,’ and she left the room bright red and Niall told me this whole story. They played Cupid,” he added.
Kudos to Simon and Niall ‘cos the happy couple now have a beautiful bb and ~apparently~ they’re also married!
In a recent interview with SiriusXM, Liam revealed that he married the former Girls Aloud singer by calling her his wife.
“I left my wife and child at home and I was straight out to In-N-Out Burger,” he told the radio show.
So now we know who to thank for our fave couple!
