While some couples have called in quits in quarantine (RIP Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart) it seems like isolation has been good to Tom Holland. According to multiple reports, the Spider-Man actor is not just dating, but in a full-blown, living-together, taking-out-the-recycling relationship with actress Nadia Parkes. Well, at least while they’re quarantining together.
The 23-year-old, known for his appearances in big-budget Marvel films and for doing shirtless handstand challenges, has apparently been dating Parkes for three months. When the coronavirus restrictions hit, Holland and Parkes made the call to live together.
“It was early days for Tom and Nadia when the lockdown was announced in London,” a source told the Daily Mail. “They made the decision to isolate together, and things have been going great between them. Tom has told friends and family they’re in an official relationship and living together so soon into their romance has only made them stronger.” Looks like this isn’t just an “iso-situationship”!
Holland has spoken before about how he is “definitely a relationship person. I’m not the fleeting type at all; it’s not my way of life.” He’s also been very private about his relationships in the past, including during the nine months in which he dated Olivia Bolton, a childhood friend.
It’s not just the new couple alone though, Holland lives with his brother Harry and his friend Harrison Osterfield. We can imagine plenty of cute scrabble nights happening in this household.
So who is Nadia Parkes, the girl who apparently has Tom Holland’s heart, and how did they meet?
Parkes is another London-based actor, known mainly for her roles in the Starz series The Spanish Princess and an episode of Doctor Who. Beyond these roles, we haven’t seen that much of Parkes yet, and she’s openly spoken before about her struggles navigating the entertainment industry.
After landing the role in The Spanish Princess, she left drama school early to begin filming, hoping that the role would open doors in the future. “I sat there going, ‘Oh my god, this has all happened for me so quickly, and I didn’t even have to kind of deal with all the worry and the rejection. No, it’s not going to be long until I get my next job.’” she explained. “Ten months later, I hadn’t worked, and I’d started working at a special needs school to help out with some kids there. I was feeling so low.”
Parkes has spoken about auditioning as often as weekly for parts, “I’m really, really lucky: I have an incredible agent and the job that I did means I get into auditioning rooms that people have worked you know, five years or seven years to be able to get into those rooms. I audition pretty much once or twice a week, including or sometimes not including self-tapes.”
It sounds like a tiring cycle, and with the coronavirus pandemic halting a tonne of shows and film’s production, we may be waiting a little while before more Parkes shows appear. Maybe Holland can help her filming her audition tapes in the meantime?
When it comes to how the couple met, they have some other famous friends to thank. Parkes is a good friend of Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner: she even went on Turner’s Spain bachelorette trip last year. Apparently, Turner and her now-husband Joe Jonas may have played a gentle match-making role by introducing Holland and Parkes last year.
At of yet, neither Holland or Parkes have commented on the relationship and Parkes has recently made her Instagram private.
