People can disable comments, block and do many other things on the app to make sure that cyber-bullies don't have a platform, and now, there is a brand new feature to continue working toward this goal.
AUTOMATICALLY DETECTING BULLYING IN PHOTOS
Instagram have UPPED their game by using machine learning technology to detect bullying in photos and captions, which is then sent to their Community Operations team to review. The change means they will help identify and remove bullying, but the most important part of this new feature is that it detects the bullying that most people who observe or experience, don't report.
BULLYING COMMENT FILTER ON INSTAGRAM LIVE
A bullying comment filter was introduced a few months ago which detects and hides bullying comments from Feed, Explore and Profile. Now, Instagram is adding this feature to their Instagram Live videos, to ensure that Live is a safe and fun space for users.
Now to the fun part... Maddie Ziegler!
Maddie has teamed up with Instagram to create her very own face filter to promote kindness.
If you follow Maddie, you will have the filter automatically when you tap the face icon at the bottom of the camera screen.
Hearts will fill the screen in selfie mode, and you can tag a friend you want to support. Your friend will then receive a notification that you mentioned them in your story.
They can then share it to their own story, or they can use the camera effect to spread that same kindness to someone else.
If you switch to the rear camera, you’ll see a bunch of kind comments in different languages.
And just look how gorgeous it is:
