Only a few days after Billie Eilish announced her exciting new clothing collaboration with fashion brand Siberia Hills, backlash has ensued.
So much so that the collection has been removed from her actual website.
Fans wasted no time pointing out that the designs from the particular collection with Siberia Hills are very similar to an anime artwork by Japanese artist @m_qurokawa.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about celebrity collections, it’s that fans DO NOT take nicely to any sort of copyright from independent artists or fan art.

@m_qurokawa‘s original artwork was posted as a tweet on their Twitter account last August.

Since the backlash erupted online, Siberia Hills removed the post from their Instagram about the collection, but fans are still coming for the “Bad Guy” singer Billie Eilish.
Siberia Hills has since posted an apology on Instagram, admitting that they did indeed steal the designs from the Japanese artist’s anime art, and said they would refund all customers.
“To the talented artist Mr. M_Qurokawa, we apologize for taking from your artwork for our merchandise collaboration with Billie Eilish,” Siberia Hills wrote.
“Billie and her team were not aware that we used your art, they just believed in the product. We were the creative force behind this collaboration. To Billie and her fans, we apologize for causing this issue. These items will not be released. To those who already purchased, you will be refunded.”
Billie has yet to respond to any of the backlash or address the copyright issue that has her name plastered all over it.
This is not the first time a celebrity has been embroiled in a similar copyright issue, with celebrities like Ariana Grande culturally appropriating Japanese culture on multiple occasions, and the Kardashian/Jenner clan often taking ideas off independent designers for their own clothing lines.
