Kanye West has officially become the internet’s version of everyone’s rogue uncle at Christmas, unapologetically voicing every thought that comes to his head.
The rapper, who has legally changed his name to Ye, has been taking aim at everyone from his ex-wife to former friends on his socials.

Ye is in his ✨ chaotic era ✨ when it comes to what he’s sharing on social media. First, his posts were directed at Billie Eilish, then Kid Cudi, then… someone named Skete?
Ummm, what is going on? We’ve broken down all of Ye’s recent Instagram posts below.
Billie Eilish
20-year-old American musician Billie Eilish got the um…. honour? Of receiving Ye’s first Instagram shout-out.
After seeing a fan in distress while performing at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, the bad guy singer paused her concert to help them locate an inhaler.
“We’re taking care of our people,” Billie said. “I wait for people to be OK until I keep going.”
Soon after, @rapseatv shared a story about the incident, with the headline: “Billie Eilish dissed Travis Scott at her concert after she stopped the show to give her fan an inhaler.”
Upon seeing this, Ye soon took to his own Instagram to share a since-deleted screenshot of the headline in question, with the accompanying caption: “COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED, AND YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA, BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM.”
The Donda singer is, of course, referring to the tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival where ten people lost their lives. More on that here.
As cool as ever, the 20-year-old responded to the 44-year-old in the comments with a succinct reply.
“Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan.”
Kid Cudi
Next up in Kanye’s Insta ‘burn book’ was American rapper, Kid Cudi.
Sharing a since-deleted hand-written note to Instagram on February 12th, Ye revealed that Kid Cudi will not be on his upcoming album, Donda 2.
“Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who.”
He added: “We all speak in Billie language now.”
So who is “you know who?”… most people are assuming it’s Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s rumoured new beau, Pete Davidson. Lord Voldemort is punching the air right now.
Ye then went on to re-share a photo (also since deleted) of himself, Kid Cudi, Pete, and actor Timothée Chalamet (no, not Timmy!! 😩😩) from 2019, with Pete’s face crossed out. Phew, Timmy is safe for another day.
“I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEP,” the musician captioned the photo.
In yet another since-deleted post, Ye shared a picture of Kid Cudi and Pete alongside one of himself, Drake, and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J Prince, writing: “Who will win?”
Following Ye’s announcement, Kid Cudi seemingly sub-tweeted the Monster singer, penning: “We talked weeks ago about this. You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE.”
He also commented on Ye’s Instagram post, writing: “too bad i dont wanna be on ur album u fu**in dinosaur hahaha. everyone knows ive been the best thing abour ur albums since i met u. ima pray u for brother.”
Pete Davidson
In a crossover no one asked for, Ye decided to share a picture of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War movie poster to his Instagram, though… with a few modifications.
In the poster, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) had been re-cast with, you guessed it, Ye and Pete Davidson.
Both celebs’ faces had been superimposed onto the poster. On Ye’s side were also the faces of rapper Drake, Ye’s now-rumoured ex-girlfriend Julia Fox, Travis Scott, and Future.
Meanwhile, on Pete’s side were the faces of Kim K, Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift. The yassification of Marvel??
The caption read: “THE INTERNET HAS STILL NOT FOUND A DECENT PICTURE OF SKETE.”
Skete, many have assumed, refers to Pete.
This hasn’t been the only time Ye has referenced ‘Skete’ on Instagram. On February 15, the Gold Digger singer shared a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent from Kim that read: “U are creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will all be your fault.”
The caption read: “UPON MY WIFE’S REQUEST PLEASE NOBODY DO ANYTHING PHYSICAL TO SKETE IM GOING TO HANDLE THE SITUATION MYSELF.”
Kim Kardashian
While Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish, ‘Skete’ Davidson, and Taylor Swift, may be living rent free in Ye’s mind, Kimberley is most certainly enjoying a Pent House view.
The musician has previously publicly declared that God is going to bring ‘Kimye’ back together…. God, and a Marvel fan edit, apparently.
On February 14, Ye even posted a screenshot of that day’s Worldwide Trends which featured his name trending above the Super Bowl. He rode that clout wave by taking the opportunity to talk about his family (and Skete, of course).
“I DIDNT WAKE UP AND FIGHT FOR MY FAMILY TO TREND OVER THE SUPER BOWL BUT IT HAPPENED THE SUPER BOWL BRINGS FAMILIES TOGETHER FOR EVERYONE MARRIED HOLD YOUR SPOUSE CLOSE MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVE AND APPRECIATE THEM BECAUSE THERES A SKETE LURKING IN EVERY DIRTY ASS ALLEY WAITING TO HELP DESTROY YOUR FAMILY AND WALK AROUND IN CALVIN KLEINS AROUND YOUR CHILDREN I WISH MY WIFE WAS WITH ME AND OUR CHILDREN SITTING AT THE 50 YARD LINE @kimkardashian ALWAYS REMEMBER WEST WAS YOUR BIGGEST W.”
A day later, Ye shared a paparazzi pic of Kim donning a coat he purchased for her before an appearance on SNL, which she was wearing on her Valentine’s Day date with Pete.
In the post, the star reassured his followers that he doesn’t have any “beef” with Kim and his family, and that “to be in love is to be crazy”.
“I AM CRAZY ABOUT MY FAMILY HAPPY VALENTINES,” Ye finished the caption. Mr. Darcy vibes 😍😍.
Later that day, the singer also shared a picture of a black ute packed with red roses. The vehicle was printed with the words: “MY VISION IS KRYSTAL KLEAR”, with many assuming he dropped these to Kim on Valentine’s Day.
Ye has also posted a number of screenshots of text messages, presumably with Kim. In one, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star texted Ye saying: “Why can’t you keep any of our conversations private ???”
To which Ye replied: “Cause I got a text from my favorite person in the world. I’m your number one fan. Why wouldn’t I tell everyone!!!!”

Hacked?
In case you were concerned that Ye had been hacked, don’t panic, the rapper has assured his followers that these posts are coming *directly* from him. Phew?
On February 13, he posted a, you guessed it, since-deleted image of himself holding a yellow notepad with the words: “MY ACCOUNT IS NOT HACKED. 2. 13. 33.”
“MY ACCOUNT IS NOT HACKED I WILL BE AT SUNDAY SERVICE AT NOON AND WILL BE TAKING NORTH AND SAINT (his kids) TO THE SUPERBOWL SHORTLY AFTER @chethinks I’LL DOUBLE WHATEVER THEY PAYING YOU JUST SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO LOOK AT THAT PAWN EVER AGAIN BIG LOVE.”
The message to @chethinks was directed to Pete’s SNL colleague Michael Che – who responded by joking about needing his salary tripled in order to “swap teams”.
Is it OK to laugh at this?
While fans have been making jokes about the rapper’s posts, some may forget that he has been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder – which involves alternating periods of intense mania and severe depression.
Manic periods can last days to weeks and can result in an intense drive to be active, grandiose ideas and ambition to achieve big things, fast speech, poor sleep, mood swings, and more.
While it’s fine to laugh at a Marvel meme, it’s important to be aware that Ye’s social media posts may be influenced by a manic episode – but that doesn’t mean he’s free from criticism, especially considering the posts are targeted at people in his life.
We do hope his support system is providing him with the appropriate help and care during this time.
