In a NEW interview for Elle magazine, the model opened up about how she and Justin navigate married life, including some of the rules and boundaries they have set.
“We have a rule: No phones in bed unless it’s absolutely necessary,” the 23-year-old said.
“I try to read more than be on my phone in bed,” she explained, adding, “I definitely enjoy being home more than I enjoy being away,” which entails “cuddling on the couch” and watching “Friends” reruns with their cats, Sushi and Tuna.
While they are loving married life, it hasn’t come without its struggles… including Justin’s recent health issues.
“I felt like putting a wedding in the middle of all of that would be really hectic and stressful,” Hailey said. “He was really sick. He has Lyme disease, and he was dealing with a bunch of medical stuff. We didn’t have a diagnosis. And it was hard because everybody from the outside was being super mean and judgmental, saying he looked like he was on drugs, saying how unhealthy he looked, when in truth, he was not healthy and we didn’t know why.”
While it took several months before they could figure out what was wrong with Justin, “he’s perfectly healthy.”
After previous reports Justin Bieber suffered severe depression in 2019, the singer recently revealed he was living with undiagnosed Lyme disease – an illness that is caused by bacteria being transmitted to humans from a tick bite.
The Grammy-winning artist revealed his Lyme diagnosis as part of his new 10-part documentary series, which was released on January 27 on YouTube.
According to a source who had seen the preview of the documentary series, Justin Bieber had been feeling extremely depressed and lethargic in 2019, having his Lyme disease misdiagnosed as depression.
The most common symptoms of Lyme disease are fever, headache, fatigue and a skin rash called erythema migrans, and can be treated over several weeks with antibiotics.
However, if the infection is left untreated it can spread to the joints, heart and nervous system.
Justin Bieber has addressed his Lyme diagnosis on Instagram, confirming he has been battling the illness for some time.
“While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like shit, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health,” Justin wrote on social media.
“These things will be explained further in a docu-series I’m putting on YouTube shortly,” Justin continued.
“You can learn all that I’ve been battling and OVERCOMING!! It’s been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever NO CAP.”
