Aussie X Factor alum’s Caitlyn Shadbolt and Reece Mastin have put their powers together and created one helluva collaboration tune.
If you were looking for a new song to listen to on repeat, “Me Without You” is the one.
“I wrote this song in Nashville with two fellow Aussies – Morgan Evans and Phil Barton,” Caitlyn explains. “We were discussing how you become one in a relationship, and as a result when that relationship ends, you lose part of yourself. Morgan came up with the ‘I don’t know me without you’ idea. We all thought it was gold. Naturally, having a male and female artist in the same room, the song became a duet. I’ve known Morgan for a few years.”
Of course, Caitlyn then thought how much more incred the song would be if Reece joined in.
“Reece Mastin was the perfect fit for this song. When I listened to his vocal take for the first time in the studio, I just about fell of my chair! He is the puzzle piece that completes the song,” Caitlyn said.
So cute.
