Feminists, rejoice!
Girls will soon be granted the privilege RIGHT to wear shorts and trousers in Victorian state schools.
Victorian Education Minister James Merlino confirmed the exciting win after an analysis of uniform policy at 100 Victorian schools found that one in four still force girls to only wear a dress or skirt and ugh.
“I am currently considering ways to ensure girls are provided the opportunity at all government schools to wear shorts and pants,” he said.
“While the vast majority of schools already offer the option of female students wearing shorts or pants, it is something I would expect all government schools to do.”
It may sound minor to some peeps, but at the end of the day any step forward in equality is a massive WIN for all of us.
